The Beginning — Baghdad, Iraq

Dr. Ali Al-Janabi’s story begins not in a boardroom, but in the streets of Baghdad — a city that shaped his understanding of resilience, resourcefulness, and the true meaning of service. Raised in a culture that values knowledge and honor above all, he developed an early passion for business, governance, and the bridge between East and West.

Long before he became a recognized federal contracting authority, he worked in the media — serving as a field liaison and translator for CBS News, working alongside legendary anchor Dan Rather during one of the most consequential periods in modern history. This experience gave him rare insight into global affairs, military operations, and the human cost of conflict — insight he would carry into every federal contract he later negotiated.

From Media to Federal Contracting

In 1999, Dr. Al-Janabi founded Al-Janabi & Partner Co. (A&P) — his first formal enterprise — driven by a singular conviction: that the private sector could serve the U.S. government with the same precision and dedication as its own agencies. What began as a small engineering and contracting firm quickly grew into a trusted federal supplier, earning certifications, building relationships, and delivering results where others could not.

By 2011, he had founded ZAIN Alosool General Trading — now the flagship of his business empire — and established it as one of the most credentialed and reliable US federal contractors operating in the international supply chain space. Registered in SAM, CCR, UNGM, and JCCS, ZAIN became the operational backbone of over 1,500 verified prime contracts with the U.S. federal government, including the DoD, VA, and major defense primes such as Parsons Corporation, KBR, Fluor, and IAB.

Military Service & Field Operations

Dr. Al-Janabi did not run his federal contracting operations from a distance. He was on the ground — embedded with U.S. military units, attending command-level briefings, and personally overseeing supply chain delivery in active theater environments. His work spanned multiple combat zones and reconstruction efforts, earning him the trust and formal recognition of U.S. Army and Marine Corps commanders.

He received military challenge coins from Task Force 2-6 Infantry (Operation Iraqi Freedom 2008–2009), the United States Marine Corps (USMC), and the 1st Armored Division “Old Ironsides” — rare honors for a civilian contractor, reflecting the depth of his integration and trust within U.S. military command structures.

He engaged directly with senior military officers in operations spanning Iraq, Jordan, and the broader CENTCOM area of responsibility — developing a operational understanding of defense logistics, security protocols, and the Buy American Act requirements that govern federal procurement at the highest levels.

Building the Empire of Five

Over the course of two decades, Dr. Al-Janabi built not one company, but six — each addressing a distinct domain of the federal supply chain and international trade: procurement and general trading (ZAIN), engineering and infrastructure (A&P), international commerce (VIC), logistics (BGTLS), infrastructure restoration (IRC)

Each company is independently registered, SAM and CCR compliant, and operationally capable of serving U.S. federal agencies and their prime contractors. Together, they represent one of the most comprehensive privately held federal supply chain portfolios operated by a single individual.

The Mission Continues

Today, Dr. Ali Al-Janabi serves as strategic advisor to governments, corporations, and federal agencies navigating the complexity of international procurement. He remains CEO and founder of ZAIN Alosool and its partner companies, actively engaged in federal contracting, governance reform, healthcare systems modernization, and cross-border investment facilitation.

His mission is unchanged from the day he began: to bridge the gap between global industrial capability and U.S. government requirements — with unwavering precision, compliance, and integrity.
